Amaero International Limited (ASX:3DA) has announced the selection of Tennessee, US over the UAE as the location for its flagship titanium powder manufacturing facility. The state of Tennessee has provided significant economic incentives and infrastructure to attract the relocation of Amaero’s research and development, corporate headquarters, and flagship plant. The move will accelerate breakeven operations by 12 months and reduce working capital need by $22 million.

Amaero has secured commitments for economic incentives from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Cleveland-Bradley Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The company has also received a long-term commitment from the Tennessee Valley Authority for investment credit and a long-term electricity rate subsidy.

The manufacturing facility will occupy a 12,100 square metre site in Cleveland, Tennessee, and will include a purpose-built high-bay extension for the installation of four electrode inert gas atomisers. The facility is strategically located for its close proximity to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is conveniently located near Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Amaero intends to pursue US government funding and incentives that target reshoring advanced manufacturing and critical materials supply chain, and will also pursue “offset credit” funding for other strategic projects in the UAE.

The selection of Tennessee as the location for Amaero’s flagship titanium powder manufacturing facility underscores the company’s commitment to financial, operational, and strategic advantages. The move accelerates breakeven operations and reduces working capital need, while positioning Amaero for further growth in the development of advanced materials.

There’s this idea floating around that throwing enough cash at Intel will suddenly turn them into the next TSMC. But semiconductor manufacturing isn’t something you can rush, it’s a complex, slow-moving process that takes years of precision and experience.

Intel could recover some ground eventually, but framing them as the savior of American chipmaking feels more like a political talking point than a practical reality.

Looks like we're going through something, but who would have thought with all these tarrifs, inflation and trade wars going on
