How is Strategic Elements Revolutionizing Renewable Energy with their Energy Ink™ Technology?
Unprecedented Power Density
Strategic Elements Ltd (ASX Code: SOR) has made a groundbreaking discovery in the field of moisture-based energy with their Energy Ink™ technology. This renewable energy innovation is capable of converting moisture from the air into electrical power. Recently, the Energy Ink™ technology achieved an unparalleled power density, exceeding that of commercial solar panels.
Overcoming Technical Challenges
Moisture-based energy technologies have traditionally faced obstacles such as low power density, short duration, and material degradation. The prevailing belief was that moisture could only power small devices due to these limitations. However, Strategic Elements successfully re-engineered their Energy Ink™ to achieve a remarkable 1000-fold increase in power density within a year. This achievement challenges the conventional notion that moisture-based energy is restricted to small-scale applications.
Collaborative Efforts

energy source for wearables. Their work in this area has been supported by a prestigious Australian Research Council Linkage Grant.
Exciting Prospects and Ambitious Goals
The Energy Ink™ technology's high power density, even in its early stages, holds tremendous potential for further improvement. The company aims to scale up the technology in the near future, exploring its application beyond small devices. Strategic Elements envisions generating energy from moisture in an apartment building parking bay overnight, storing the charge in an electric vehicle, and using it to drive away.
Technical Details of High-Power Cell
The power density of the Energy Ink™ technology is measured in milliwatts per centimeter squared (mW/cm²). During testing, the prototype high-power Energy Ink™ cell achieved an average power density of 51 mW/cm², with a peak of 61 mW/cm². At the end of a three-hour test period, the cell boasted a power density of 32 mW/cm². These results significantly surpass existing moisture-enabled power generation technologies.
Complementary to Solar Energy
Strategic Elements does not view the Energy Ink™ technology as a competitor to solar power. Instead, it sees the unique attributes of their innovation as a potential complement to solar energy or an alternative in situations where solar power may not be practical.
Remaining Challenges
While the early results are promising, there are significant challenges to overcome before the Energy Ink™ technology can be considered technically feasible for high-power cells. These challenges include achieving high energy conversion efficiency, ensuring stable and consistent performance over time, and transitioning from small laboratory prototypes to a scalable, integrated system.
Conclusion
Strategic Elements Ltd's Energy Ink™ technology represents a significant breakthrough in harnessing moisture as a power source. With exceptional power density and the potential to scale up, this innovation could revolutionize the field of moisture-based energy. The company's collaborative efforts, ambitious goals, and dedication to overcoming technical challenges make Strategic Elements an exciting player in the renewable energy sector.

Intel could recover some ground eventually, but framing them as the savior of American chipmaking feels more like a political talking point than a practical reality.
