Personal loans and Centrelink - I have a question regarding Australian lending laws and there relation to those on centrelink, mainly those on new start and youth allowance.
I know people may be able to apply for loans through centrelink but what about other lending organisations, are there rules around lending to people without a steady guaranteed income or is it more a policy based on the lending organisation?
it seems morally wrong to provide loans to potentially vulnerable people but I was wondering if there are actually laws around it.
Edit to provide more context : I'm asking this as a lender I'm aware of has advised in the past they are not allowed to lend to those of new start/ youth allowance but has recently done just that due to pressure from an outside source, sorry I can't be more specific.Ausfinance
