Saturn Metals Reports Excellent Metallurgical Results for Low-Cost, Heap Leach Gold Processing at Apollo Hill

Saturn Metals, a Western Australian gold exploration company, has recently conducted additional scaled-up metallurgical test work towards bulk tonnage gold mining and mineral processing via heap leaching at the Apollo Hill Mineral Resource. The company upgraded the mineral resource to 1. 84 Moz1, and the results from this latest test work suggest the potential for low-cost heap leach processing, which accounts for around 46% of global gold production.

Excellent Recovery at Targeted Grade and Commercial Fresh Rock Crush Sizes

The metallurgical test work conducted at Apollo Hill consisted of four composite column samples, grading between 0. 32 g/t Au and 1. 34 g/t Au, derived from the deposit's dominant fresh basalt and dolerite rock types. The samples underwent closed-circuit high-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) crushing to a P100 size of 8.

0 mm, resulting in an average recovery of 79. 1%.

Comparatively, global heap leach recovery figures can range between 55% and 79%, making Apollo Hill's recovery rate extremely promising.

Predictable Leach Curves and Results Lead to Efficiency in Development Studies

Of note from the recent testing, the HPGR 8mm P100 size column leach recovery curves exhibit a narrow spread of overall gold extraction results, demonstrating a low variability and high predictability of the leaching characteristics of Apollo Hill mineralisation. This predictability allows for simple and cost-efficient production scheduling in Saturn's current development studies.

Validation of Previous Test Work

These recovery results serve as validation of previous metallurgical test work programmes carried out in 2022. The recovery values under similar conditions were reported at between 74. 5% and 85. 0% and further support the high recovery values reported in the latest test work.

Next Steps – Scale Up

The metallurgical test work results have been used to gather important input information for developing Saturn's Mineral Resource further. The data will inform the upcoming Preliminary Feasibility Study and Pre-Feasibility Study Programmes. The company intends to continue scaling up heap leach processing efforts at Apollo Hill and is confident in the potential of the project.
