Saying no to doing expensive things with friends -
I have a lot of friends from very wealthy backgrounds (result of going to boarding school and Ag Uni). I am defiantly not from a wealthy background, however my parents worked hard to get my siblings and I through boarding school in rural WA. I love my friends and they don’t gloat but I’m finding it frustrating when I decline expensive activities and they come back with “come on you only live once”. Sorry but I know you have a family business/farm to fall back on and are getting your house deposit funded etc, some of us can’t do this. Obviously I can’t say that and they do work hard in their own careers but they have that security of their future behind them through family wealth and really don’t know how the other half live. No fault of theirs either it’s just luck of the draw and good on their families for working to get to that position.Ausfinance
