Sunstone Metals' Limon Gold-Silver Discovery: Expanding Horizons in Southern Ecuador

Sunstone Metals Ltd (ASX: STM) has reported exceptional results from its expanded exploration program at the Limon gold-silver discovery within the Bramaderos project in southern Ecuador. These findings suggest that Limon could be a globally significant gold-silver system, characterized by shallow, high-grade mineralization.

0m at 4. 8 g/t gold and 6. 1 g/t silver, including a peak of 2. 0m at 32. 9 g/t gold and 29. 5 g/t silver.
LM-06: Uncovered 2. 0m at 5. 9 g/t gold and 1. 0g/t silver.

These trenches are approximately 900m from the drilled Central Shoot, significantly expanding the Limon system's potential scale.

Expanding the Limon System

Trenches LM-04, LM-05, and LM-06, located in the northern and western parts of the large Limon system, suggest the presence of epithermal gold-silver mineralization over an extensive 1. 7km x 700m alteration zone.

Geological Insights and Further Exploration

The structure intersected in trench LM-04, striking ENE, extends for around 2. 7 km and is believed to link to the gold-bearing fluids from the Limon porphyry system. This indicates that epithermal fluids are focused in areas beyond the Central Shoot.

LM-05 and LM-06 Findings

LM-05's findings in the westernmost edge of the gold-in-soil anomaly include high-grade gold and silver related to intense silicification. Nearby, LM-06 also shows mineralization, underscoring the extensive gold potential in the area.

Plans for 2024

Sunstone plans follow-up trenches in the western part of Limon as a priority for early 2024, building on the success of the 2023 program in defining the substantial epithermal system at the Central Shoot.

Regional Epithermal Targets Within the Bramaderos Concession

Espiritu SE: An area associated with a series of NE-striking epithermal veins near the Brama porphyry system.
Porotillo West: Features Au-As-Ag-Te-Pb-Zn soil anomalism, with ENE-WSW striking intermediate sulphidation epithermal veins.

These targets indicate the presence of significant gold-silver epithermal systems within the Bramaderos concession.

Bramaderos Project

The Bramaderos Project encompasses:

A porphyry gold-copper-silver Mineral Resource estimate of 2. 7Moz AuEq at Brama-Alba.
An epithermal gold-silver exploration target at Limon of 0. 9 – 1. 7 million oz AuEq within 30 – 44 million tonnes at a grade of between 0. 9 – 1. 2 g/t AuEq.

Strategic Location and Community Support

Located near the Pan American highway and close to renewable energy sources, the project benefits from good infrastructure and strong community support. It spans three concessions and is positioned for further exploration of its epithermal and porphyry opportunities.
